In the Getting Started with Lenormand post I provided a list of simple associations which included:
Heart, Jack of Hearts, Love, Connections, Sensitive, Emotions, Desire, Blood
Heart gets to the Heart of the matter. It indicated Love, romantic and platonic. It can be an indication of the beginning of new Connections.
It can also indicate Desire. Of a sexual or romantic nature, or the Desires of the Heart. In some cases, it can prompt us to listen to what the heart says over the brain.
Heart speaks of Emotions, their expression and experience. It can indicate a person who is very Sensitive or emotionally intelligent.
In general, it is a joyful card and a herald of blessings and beautiful experiences. If indicating a person it could indicate a ruddy complexion or heart-shaped features.
Heart also indicates blood. Therefore, it can indicate the ties of familial blood, blood health or even the use of blood in magical operations.
As always remember that Context is Key, and allow the space to consider what is being expressed broadly as well as narrowly.
